The cold wet winter has certainly been good for creating. This latest idea was birthed by my daughter, confirmed by the brides and grooms to-be at the Pink Bride Show, and named by my husband; it really does take a village!

We call it “The Dandelion Division”.  No I’m not making jewelry out of dandelions but I could with this new technique; in fact I can use any flower.

My latest project from The Dandelion Division is a European style large hole bead with pieces of flower petals. I used rose petals from the roses my husband gave me for our anniversary.  I used green because it’s one of my favorite colors, plus it’s almost St. Patrick’s day…Love my Irish roots!

This little bead has a 2.7mm sterling silver lined opening that goes great strung on leather or on a sterling silver snake chain.  Just think how fun it would be to add a bead that has your special flowers in it to your add-a-bead bracelet.

A few of the most exciting parts of this concept are:

1.   I can use any type of flower or weed. 😉

2.  The designs are endless. Stud earrings, cufflinks, or tie clips just to name a

few.

3.  The colors are infinite, meaning it’s not just variations of brown. Since it’s not

100% organic I can add color to match the flower, if you have yellow jonquils

you can have a yellow bead.

4.  Making these takes me a fraction of the time and that will definitely reflect in the pricing.

The only downside is you can’t smell your flowers but you can see them.
